SOARING OVER THE SERENGETI....
A fantastic way to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! So many awesome photos to post don't even know where to begin.
*We soared over the Serengeti with an unbelievable view for about an hour. We were able to view from above - Lions elephants hippos gazelles hyenas and other animals.
After we safely landed we had a traditional celebration African style with African Mimosas which consists of champagne and mango juice. We then had a wonderful breakfast right in the middle of the Serengeti. Doesn't get much better than that! The pilot of our hot air balloon even emailed me a photo of our flight track over the Serengeti. Pretty cool.
We have now made our way to the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge right on the top edge of the Ngorongoro Crater (about 8,000' elevation)! What a view! A few years ago this resort was rated top 10 in the world by a few Publications.
Before arriving we took some great photos and videos of giraffes and part of the great migration of the wildebeests.
Tomorrow we do a half-day game drive of the Ngorongoro Crater and then that's pretty much it for the Safari. We start our long flight back home on Thursday evening flying out of Kilimanjaro Airport. Hope to see Mount Kilimanjaro this time. A few days ago it was too cloudy to see this Magnificent Mountain. In case you didn't know Mount Kilimanjaro at 19,500 feet tall is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world.
Lastly we just had our anniversary dinner at the Sopa Lodge Restaurant. And to top it off the Sopa Lodge choir sang for us and gave us an anniversary cake. This particular Sopa Lodge opened in 1992. We were married in 1992. Coincidence?
