AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!

The Mountain Gorillas of the Bwindi Forest/Uganda!

The most unbelievable experience we've ever had! And a great way to celebrate my 29th birthday!

We tracked a family of 12 Gorillas - took 2 hours but finally came up on the Bweza Gorilla family  (that's their family name) and spent 1 hour with them.

There are 5 or 6 different families in the Bwindi Forest.

Oh and we even received UWA Gorilla Tracking Certificates!

On top of this whole unbelievable experience we are staying at one of the beautiful areas at all of Uganda on Beautiful Lake Mutanda - in the Virunga Mountains virtually surrounded by volcanoes in the southwest part of Uganda. Across the lake is Rwanda and the Republic of Congo. The nickname of this area is the Switzerland of Africa!

We are exhausted from today's Gorilla experience. Literally climbing up and down the side of a mountain scaling Cliffs (with the help of trackers and porters) and finally locating the gorilla family two hours into our Trek. We are now relaxing at Lake Mutanda Resorts Lodge.

Tomorrow we leave bright and early for our flight out of Kigali Rwanda. Next destination is Kilimanjaro Tanzania. This will be the second half of our amazing 25th wedding anniversary trip.

That's it for now. Tomorrow we leave Uganda and head for Tanzania. The Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, making a Swahili lunch and banana beer with local villagers, Hot air balloon ride all coming up over the next 6 days.
